Moving ahead onto the rifle range to set up your bench

Moving on to the rifle range - shooting positions NO VEHICLES can be parked on the range itself, pull up to the gate, unload your equipment and then park your vehicle by the club house parking area.  Set up your bench, call for a cease fire, remove active range flag on both ranges and then proceed down range to set up targets.

Active range RED FLAGS must be used when the range is  active to discharge firearms.

What Are Barrel Limiters?

Barrel limiters help shooters focus on the angle of their barrel and by resting it between the two horizontal plastic pipes the chance of over shooting the berm is reduced substantially. These are required by the Alberta Chief Provincial Firearms Office and not using them may keep us from being recertified on the next review. If you are using a lead sled or other device and remove the black pipes. Please put them back when you are done.

What is an Acceptable Range Targets?

Do not assume you can shoot at any objects you find on the range. Just because it is there, does not mean it is fine to shoot. Many times people go looking for pieces of metal etc to shoot but they were intended for another purpose.

Chairs are brought so people can sit and be much more  comfortable. Please respect them and use them as intended.

Why have Barrel Liliters been installed 0n the range?

The new barrel limiters have been installed and If we do not use them we risk having the range shut down.

So instead of yanking out all of the tubes why not give them a chance, they are plastic so they will not rust or damage your firearm. The only thing left to do if people do not assist with this is to close the range except when certified range officers can be on duty.

This will severely limit the hours of the range.

You are all range officers in spirit to the range, if you see activities and know that should not be going on then say something or call range management. If you don't then you are part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Garbage Cans on all Ranges

We have placed at least 4 garbage containers on each range. Please help us to keep the range clean by using them. Please do not place food scraps in the gargage as there are wild animals including BEARS that wil dump the garbage all over to get to the good stuff. It is not the job of range volunteers to clean up unnecessary garbage left behind by careless people.
